Just wanted to let everyone know I am accepting commissions right now for full color sketch cards ($20) or for digitally colored drawings ($30) of the subject of your choice. Please limit the sketch cards to one character and add $10 for each additional character to the digital art.
He-Man and Skull Face
Saturday, August 09, 2008
He-Man was one of my favorite shows growing up, and after hearing all about him all week long from Pat and Josh, my interest is rekindled. I’m going to have to get into my parents storage building and see if they kept my old He-Man toys. I already found a few of my old Star Wars and GI Joe guys.
My favorite He-Man was the battle damage He-Man. He had a little spot on his armor that when you hit it, it spun around to reveal some scratches. Hit it once more and it was really banged up. I think I had a Skeletor that did the same thing.
I’m not sure how to balance the Deviant Art and the website, what goes where and how best to link the two. Since I want to keep this site all-ages friendly, I don’t want to link to DA too overtly, but at the same time, I want those looking to be able to find my stuff. It’ll come, I’m sure.
San Diego Recap
Sunday, August 03, 2008
I have been putting off this recap, not because I have anything bad to say, but because I’ve been so busy catching up on everything at home and work, I haven’t spent much time on anything else. I did set up a Deviant Art Page, which has been going good. I’ll be putting pretty much the same artwork there as I do here, but with a few exceptions. I try to keep this site all-ages friendly, since I write all-ages books. On Deviant Art, however, I’ll be posting a few not so all-ages pieces, just to expand my horizon. I’ll be sure to mark those pieces as such.
The trip itself was awesome. I had a blast hanging out with Josh, Pat and Wes.
We sold out of the forty copies of Wonderdog we took up there, so that was awesome! Thanks to everyone who picked up a copy. I hope you liked it! Be sure to tell all your friends when it hits shelves in November.
I also sold a few sketchbooks and a couple of sketch cards. I sold the Isaac card I did, which is the first sketch card I think I did. That was cool.
I got to meet Matt Keesler and Natalie Morales from the show the Middleman. That was fun. Javi got ABC Family let us Viper folk into their booth to meet her and get a picture with her. It was too cool.
Big plans for next year are being, well, planned. But more on that later.
I’ll have some pics up on Flickr tonight or tomorrow, I’ll let you know when. I let my pro account expire, so I don’t have as much space for pics as I used to. Feel free to gift one to me if you like.
