Mac
Goosh

For those of you who like to type Unix commands, this is the only way to search Google.
Using the terminal has become second nature to me working both on Linux boxes for hosting and my Mac. I’ve really enjoyed playing with this pseudo shell for Google. Here’s a hint if you go and have absolutely no clue what to do, type in help and hit enter, the rest should be fairly straight forward.
HOLY CRAP!

I meant to add this yesterday, but I was just too excited. StarCraft II has been announced!!!!! For those of you who don’t know, StarCraft has been, for the past nine years, the one game that I could always play and have fun on. Even if I was the worst player on the map, it was still fun. I’ve been hoping for a second, but after a while, it’s just kind of a dream you have, but don’t really think it will happen. Like winning the lottery or knowing all the secrets on Lost.
The movies they have look great. No word yet on release or betas or anything like that. But man o man, I can’t wait to play it. The best part is, Blizzard always releases the games in a Mac/PC combo format, so you only need the one disc to install on both machines. No waiting six months for the port!
iMac!

So I finally did it. I bought myself a new iMac. I’ve used one at work for over a year, and I have the MacBookPro that I bring home from the office quite often, but when I got my income tax return, I just knew I had to get rid of that old noisy PC.
I got all the software I used there here, with the exception of the CS3 suite. One large purchase at a time.
Really, there’s no programs on the PC that I can’t use on the Mac. I was already coding in TextMate, which is Mac only, my finacial software, ChaChing, is Mac only. Really, I had already made the jump, it’s just nice to have some hardware to go along with it.
As far as this site goes, I know I need to fix the archives (at least you can read the full post now!) as well as a few other little bug fixes here and there. But I’m happy with the way it’s turned out. A few of you left me messages with things that either aren’t working, or things that could work better, if anybody else has any ideas, please let me know.
Buy me a Mac
Wednesday, July 05, 2006
Guess what? I’m giving you, YES YOU, a chance to buy me a mac! My PC is pooping out and I’ve grown to not only love the mac at the office, but I’m also far more profecient with it. It’s like drawing with a sharp pencil after trying to do fine work with a jumbo Sharpie all your life. Quite the change. And YOU can help with that change! I’m aiming for an iMac, though I’ll be quite happy with a macMini. I know Scott Kurtz did this a few months ago, and it worked for him, so I figured I’d just rip his idea and try it out for myself. Knowing the size of my readership compared to his, I’ll be lucky to get enough for a Mac Remote.
