Monster Babies
Monday, September 08, 2008
The Monster Babies in their first ever short! Playing before features this fall at a theater near you!
A bit of a throwback to the old Muppet Babies show, here’s some classics as kids (larvae?).
Drawn on paper, colored in Photoshop.
He-Man and Skull Face
Saturday, August 09, 2008
He-Man was one of my favorite shows growing up, and after hearing all about him all week long from Pat and Josh, my interest is rekindled. I’m going to have to get into my parents storage building and see if they kept my old He-Man toys. I already found a few of my old Star Wars and GI Joe guys.
My favorite He-Man was the battle damage He-Man. He had a little spot on his armor that when you hit it, it spun around to reveal some scratches. Hit it once more and it was really banged up. I think I had a Skeletor that did the same thing.
I’m not sure how to balance the Deviant Art and the website, what goes where and how best to link the two. Since I want to keep this site all-ages friendly, I don’t want to link to DA too overtly, but at the same time, I want those looking to be able to find my stuff. It’ll come, I’m sure.
San Diego Recap
Sunday, August 03, 2008
I have been putting off this recap, not because I have anything bad to say, but because I’ve been so busy catching up on everything at home and work, I haven’t spent much time on anything else. I did set up a Deviant Art Page, which has been going good. I’ll be putting pretty much the same artwork there as I do here, but with a few exceptions. I try to keep this site all-ages friendly, since I write all-ages books. On Deviant Art, however, I’ll be posting a few not so all-ages pieces, just to expand my horizon. I’ll be sure to mark those pieces as such.
The trip itself was awesome. I had a blast hanging out with Josh, Pat and Wes.
We sold out of the forty copies of Wonderdog we took up there, so that was awesome! Thanks to everyone who picked up a copy. I hope you liked it! Be sure to tell all your friends when it hits shelves in November.
I also sold a few sketchbooks and a couple of sketch cards. I sold the Isaac card I did, which is the first sketch card I think I did. That was cool.
I got to meet Matt Keesler and Natalie Morales from the show the Middleman. That was fun. Javi got ABC Family let us Viper folk into their booth to meet her and get a picture with her. It was too cool.
Big plans for next year are being, well, planned. But more on that later.
I’ll have some pics up on Flickr tonight or tomorrow, I’ll let you know when. I let my pro account expire, so I don’t have as much space for pics as I used to. Feel free to gift one to me if you like.
Drawings
Thursday, May 08, 2008
I updated the drawings page with some of the personal sketch cards I’ve been doing and a few others I had laying around. I need to fire up the scanner and get some more up, I’ll try to do that tonight.
Colors
Wednesday, April 16, 2008
So I got some Prismacolor markers. I’ve never used markers like this, and the first couple of tries weren’t pretty. But I think I’m getting the hang of it.
I don’t think I have a strong likeness here, but I really like the colors, so I’m posting it. It’s River (Summer Glau) from Serenity.
Losties
Thursday, April 03, 2008
A few Losties for ya, these were done on small bristol boards my wife cut for me. Perfect for small quick sketches. I got adventurous and colored one with my old PrismaColors from high school.

Didn’t do much drawing over the Easter holiday. So to make up for it, I colored this one, just for you.
